Building a Better Bhujanghasana

Backbends are some of the most special – and unique to the system – poses in yoga. They open the hips, shoulders, and chest, improve breathing, stimulate and energize the kidneys, increase flexibility in the spine, are anti-aging, bring us into the present while releasing the past, and increase our capacity to feel joy while releasing grief.
Who wouldn’t want to do all those things?
But sometimes, even though the spirit is willing, the body is weak, or tight, or otherwise stymied in going deeper into poses. This workshop will change your Bhujanghasana (Cobra pose) in 2 hours, addressing those spots that just don’t want to open or lengthen or expand.
We’ll warm up the body and then move through a variety of (mostly) partner-assisted preparations to release the physical, mental, and emotional blockages that stand in the way of going deeper into the beautiful pose of Bhujanghasana.
Appropriate for all levels. Everyone will go deeper with this work, no matter where your Cobra is now.
