This past Fall has tested us, but it has also shown the resilience and dedication of our community. As we come together to celebrate the studio’s 7th anniversary, let’s honor our collective strength and the healing power of Yoga with our annual tradition: Purna Yoga Nidra. We can’t imagine a more fitting practice for this moment as we all move forward in the process of rebuilding, regrouping, and re-imagining our city. We’re excited to celebrate our studio, our community, and the process of growing together as we set an intention for the year ahead with a Purna Yoga Nidra that offers students the option to attend either in-person or online for the first time since 2020.
Yoga Nidra is truly a magical experience. And that experience is varied depending on the style of Nidra you practice. For some, Yoga Nidra is simply a longer Shavasana. For others, Yoga Nidra involves a long Shavasana and a guided meditation with the intention to expand consciousness.
In Purna Yoga, our style of Yoga Nidra involves setting a sankalpa (an intention) around some kind of change, shift or growth, distilling the essence of that intention into a feeling, and then planting the seed of that shift in our subconscious. In this way, it is a method of communicating with the subconscious, opening the doorway to deeper intuition, and experiencing the five koshas (sheaths) of the body as one drops into a deep state of relaxation and pratyahara (sense withdrawal).
Join Letitia on December 13th as she guides you through Purna Yoga Nidra, using the method and techniques of this practice as taught by Aadil Palkhivala, the co-founder of Purna Yoga. Experience a profound journey of self-discovery and relaxation that can lead to meaningful shifts in your life. This year, we’ll offer both in-studio and online attendance options. Regardless of how you choose to attend, you’ll have the recording through January 1st to enjoy over and over again.
We will spend the first 30 minutes discussing the hows and whys of the Nidra, refining our sankalpa, and getting settled in position. Then, we will have a full 90 minutes to settle in, drop the body, and set our intentions before coming out slowly, carefully, almost reluctantly to join what will feel like a whole new world.
Join us in celebrating our seventh anniversary with this transformative experience and help strengthen our vibrant community as we step into a new year together. We are grateful for each of you and look forward to celebrating this special milestone together.
Suggested for students with at least one year of asana experience.
