Created in response to the bright, outward pull of summer and a culture that rarely encourages turning inward even when the season quietly asks it of us, this offering invites cooling, nourishment, and shared rest.
We are living in a time that often prioritizes movement, productivity, and constant engagement. Many of us feel the effects of this in our bodies and nervous systems, even when we don’t yet have language for it. Summer, with its heat and brightness and expansive pull, can amplify this, drawing us outward until we arrive at autumn already dry and depleted.
Moving Inward Together is a seasonally inspired restorative yoga and acupuncture experience led by Letitia Walker and Jodi Lefkowitz, L.Ac. This offering is rooted in the understanding that healing is not only personal, but relational. States of regulation can unfold more fully when we slow down in the presence of others who are doing the same.
Letitia will guide a gentle, fully supported restorative practice designed to help the body settle without strain. The shapes are simple and spacious, inviting inward attention and ease. In select moments of stillness, Jodi will offer acupuncture or acupressure using three thoughtfully chosen points to support cooling, nourishment, and the quiet cultivation of Yin at the height of Yang’s abundance. Essential oils chosen to reflect the gestures of the season will be available as an optional addition for those who find scent supportive.
Moving Inward Together is an invitation to rest deeply, to be supported, and to experience what becomes possible when inward attention is held in community. – Jodi Lefkowitz, L.Ac
In Chinese medicine, summer is the season of maximum Yang, bright, outward, and full of heat. This is also, paradoxically, an ideal time to strengthen and restore Yin. Because the external environment provides so much warmth, the body is not drawing on its deeper reserves in the same way it will come winter. This creates a window for replenishment. The acupuncture points in this offering are chosen with that in mind, cooling the surface, nourishing depth, and supporting the body’s capacity to gather and store what will sustain it through the colder months ahead. Not dampening summer’s vitality, but giving it something to come home to.
Rather than following a single prescribed experience, this offering centers choice and attunement. You are invited to choose your own restful journey through posture and treatment, meeting the practice in a way that feels supportive and appropriate for you. There is no expectation to participate in every element in order to benefit from the whole.
Moving Inward Together is an invitation to rest within the brightness of summer, to cool, nourish, and replenish, and to experience what becomes possible when inward attention is held in community.
