Shirsasana (Headstand), the King of all asana poses, is one of the magical postures of an asana practice. It helps to stimulate and balance the five major systems of the body (the Immune, Circulatory, Endocrine, Digestive, and Respiratory systems). Spreading and stimulating the skull sutures through Headstand is so important for brain activity because of the way it stimulates the movement of cerebral spinal fluid. It also has an energetic benefit, bringing peace to the mind and the opportunity to flip our perspective on any situation in our life.

But, as the King, it must be approached with respect. Shirsasana can be a risky pose for the neck. With Purna Yoga, we are always striving to receive the benefits of our work with as low a risk as possible. This workshop will be a chance to study this pose with an experienced teacher who can help you practice safely and effectively.
